The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the immediate posting of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to key positions across the Force.
In a statement Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said this included heads for Police Zonal Commands in Zones 1, 4, and 9, as well as a new head for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.
The new deployments are as follows, AIG Suleiman M. Yusuf as AIG Zone 9, Umuahia, AIG Ahmed Ammani as AIG Zone 1, Kano, AIG Zachariah Fera as AIG Zone 4, Makurdi, AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo as AIG FCID Annex, Lagos.
Adejobi said this reshuffle follows the retirement of several AIGs and the promotion of the former AIG Zone 1, DIG Ari Muhammed Ali, to the position of DIG, Department of Operations, at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
IGP Egbetokun urged the newly posted AIGs to demonstrate strict supervision, uphold professionalism, and align with ongoing police reforms aimed at strengthening policing ethics and operational excellence.
He emphasized the need to curb misconduct and ensure officers perform their duties with the highest standards, fostering the growth of the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.
