FG directs Nigerian Flag to fly at half mast for three days in honour of Lt General Attahiru, 10 other dead officers

President Muhammadu Buhari has authorised that the National Flag should fly at half mast in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff and ten others who died in a plane crash in Kaduna on Friday while on an official mission.

About twenty four hours after they were buried at the Military Cemetry along Airport Road in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the National Flag should fly at half-mast in all public buildings, facilities, and official residences in their honour.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said in a statement on Sunday, that this would take effect from Monday, 24 May, 2021 to Wednesday, 26 May 2021.

The President has also approved a work-free day for the Members of the Armed Forces on Monday, 24 May, 2021.
