The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly questioned Chris Ngige, a former Minister of Labour and Employment, over alleged contract irregularities and job racketeering at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) during his tenure.
Previously, the ICPC had called in senior NSITF officials to explain the N47 million gratuity paid to the former Managing Director, Mrs. Maureen Allagoa, while she was still employed.
Sources indicate that Ngige spent over five hours with ICPC investigators on Wednesday, answering questions related to contract awards and job racketeering, as well as issues concerning the e-NSITF project, which had received approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

ICPC spokesperson Demola Bakare confirmed Ngige’s invitation and subsequent release, noting that the former minister was interrogated on various issues before being allowed to leave. [Daily Review Online]
