Former Nigeria’s military president, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB), has commiserated with family of the late Senator Jonathan Silas Zwingina on the death of their super father whose love for humanity was infectious.

In a condolence message to the Zwingina family, which he personally signed, lBB said that “death struck at a most audacious manner leaving on its trail sorrow and grief.
“The death of Jonathan Zwingina came as a rude shock to me and left me utterly stunned.
“| felt a sense of personal loss, knowing how close Jonathan was with me since our paths crossed over four decades ago. His capacity to sustain discourse, his love for democracy, coupled with his ability to dissect sociopolitical issues, distinguished him throughout his trajectory in life.
“His intellect was surreal, his delivery very profound, and his love for country was eternal.
“Senator Jonathan Zwingina’s love for humanity was very infectious. His passion for a society where justice and human rights reign defined his persona in his engagements through life. He had a heart for the ordinary folks out there and was ready to sacrifice his personal comfort for the good of others. He was not just for the masses. He lived for the masses.
“Zwingina would go to any length to shoulder the responsibility of others. He was selfless, priceless, and patriotic to God and country. Each time we engaged in dialogue and interaction, you could feel Zwingina’s passion for a great Nigeria.
“On behalf of Aisha, Muha, Aminu, and Halima, accept from me our collective condolences as the remains of this great scholarly mind are being interred.
“May God Almighty forgive his sins and place him amongst Saints in the hereafter. Rest in peace, Senator Jonathan Zwingina. You will be sorely missed.:
