A front-runner in the race for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is not happy with the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for openly endorsing the presidential aspiration of Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo.

Tinubu, showing desperation and apparently attempting to paint Governor Abiodun as an ingrate, said that he made him (Abiodun) Ogun State Governor in 2019.

Tinubu said that without God and him, Abiodun would not have emerged in 2019 election as Ogun Governor.

He spoke at the presidential lodge in Abeokuta, the state capital, while addressing the APC delegates ahead of the party’s primary election.

Tinubu was in company with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo – Olu, his Kano counterpart, Umar Ganduje and former Borno State Governor, Kasim Shettima.

Governor Abiodun had openly endorsed Osinbajo’s candidature.

Osinbajo hails from Ikenne in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun state.

Speaking in Abeokuta on Thursday, Tinubu publicly took a dig at the governor who was present on the occasion.

“This one (referring to Abiodun) that’s sitting down here, could he have become Governor without me? We were at the stadium; they tore all his posters. Even the party flag, they didn’t want to hand it over to him; I was the one who brought it.

“If he wants to meet God at the right place, he must know that without God and me, he would not have become Governor,” he said.

Tinubu also opened up on how he led the struggle that led to emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in 2015.

In his remarks, Abiodun who had earlier declared his support for Osinbajo’s candidature, refused to endorse Tinubu.

He told Tinubu that delegates from the state would do “the right thing” at the convention.

Abiodun, apparently stole the show snd claimed the moral high ground when, instead of reacting to Tinubu’s public attack, described him (Tinubu) as a  political warrior, serial winner and strategist.
