The National President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, has challenged the Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai to arrest him for the state’s ongoing workers’ strike.

el-Rufai had earlier on Tuesday declared Ayuba Wabba and other union leaders wanted in connection with the state’s workers’ strike and vowed to vigorously prosecute them for violations of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, the Miscellaneous Offences and the Trade Dispute (Essential Services) Acts.

The state’s NLC had gone on strike to protest mass workers’ disengagement and other perceived anti-labor measures by the government.

“Let him come and arrest me,” Wabba told newsmen while leading a protest in response to the call for his arrest.

“It has nothing to do with me. We are here and waiting for them,” he declared.
