Former Adamawa North Senator Ishaku Abbo has quit the African Democratic Congress, ADC,.for Labour Party, LP, blaming “leadership crises” and court battles that left members “high on uncertainty.”

Abbo, who led the SIA MOVEMENT, announced the switch Sunday alongside his supporters ahead of 2027.

“Following the leadership crises rocking the ADC at national and state level… leaving all of us high on uncertainty, I have joined the Labour Party so we can contest elections in 2027,” Abbo said in a statement.

He pointed to a Federal High Court judgement voiding ADC state congresses and a Supreme Court ruling sending the leadership case back to the lower court.

“I am leaving ADC not out of hate for the party but to pursue our political aspirations because I carry the dreams of many people. Yes, I am a hope of a generation,” he said.

Abbo asked “friends in ADC” unhappy with his move to forgive him. “I have forgiven those who deliberately hurt me while I was building the ADC with my sweat, influence and resources. I have forgiven you but I will always remember your names.”
