Havilla University has announced the decision by its Board of Trustees to name the Student Center in honour of Henry Asor Nkang, a distinguished public servant.
This center, according to the Board, would now be known as the Henry Asor Nkang Student Center.
In a formal statement, the University’s Founder and Chancellor, Hon. Jones ATO Tanban, expressed that this significant recognition reflected Nkang’s invaluable commitment and exceptional contributions to the development of Ikom Local Government, Cross River State, and the nation at large.
“As a dedicated and honest public servant with a history of selfless service, we believe that naming this center after you will inspire future graduates to positively impact our society.
“Your commitment to public service and community development has set a high standard for others to follow.
“This dedication is not only a celebration of your past achievements but also a beacon of inspiration for future generations,” said Hon. Jones ATO Tanban.
The statement further elaborated on Nkang’s profound influence on the local community and the nation, emphasizing that his work had consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of those around him.
By dedicating the Student Center in his name, Havilla University said it aimed to motivate students to emulate Nkang’s values of integrity, dedication, and service.
The University has officially requested Nkang’s approval to proceed with the signage for the newly’named facility.
