In the spirit of reciprocity, a non-governmental organisation, Yitzhak Rabin Centre for African Development, has urged the federal government to relocate Nigeria’s Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as a matter of urgency.
The President of the organisation, Dr Blessing Nkemjika Ogini, who made the appeal said “it is the collective will of a majority of Nigerians that the Nigerian Embassy in Tel Aviv should be moved to Jerusalem the indisputable capital of Israel.”
In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, Dr Ogini said, “Respect is reciprocal, the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria is not sited in Kano or Enugu, rather it is in Abuja the capital of Nigeria; so Nigeria should equally do same by moving our Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.”
He also urged President Mohammedu Buhari to write his name in gold by being the first Nigerian leader who will take such a bold step.
The organisation also urged the federal government not to vote in favour of any United Nations resolution against the State of Israel.
“Yitzhak Rabin Centre for African Development frowns at such hypocritical United nations resolutions against Israel. All nations of the world should rise and condemn openly the terrorist activities of Palestinians against Israel orchestrated by the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. No nation on earth can endure 10% of what the State of Israel endures.
“Yitzhak Rabin Centre for African Development stands firm with the State of Israel, and it is its right to defend itself. We make bold to call on the United States and United Nations Security Council that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons even if it requires military action, “the statement added.
The further stated, “It may be shocking to say that the Leaders and people of Palestine don’t want peace because they benefit financially in crises. Many may like to scuttle peace because of financial gains from donors. Palestinian leader Abbas pays for the murder of Israelis is an open provocation, and this diabolic attitude should be condemned globally.
“The peace deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia pioneered by China is a sign of the weakness of President Joe Biden Administration. We do not oppose any peace deal. However, Joe Biden Administration should sit up because that initiative by China is a big blow to the United States and her allies. I think a cold war in a different dimension has started against the West by China, Russia, and Iran. United States and her allies should brace up for the unforseen because China is on it. There is more to this peace deal than the deal itself”.
