Group protests derogatory remarks about Diasporic Nigerians by Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Reps

Nigerians in the Diaspora Organisation has petitioned the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to protest the derogatory and uncharitable remarks made about Diasporic Nigerians by the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Idris Wase.

The group said the Deputy Speaker, while standing in for the Speaker in a plenary of the House, made certain remarks that cast doubts and aspersions on the citizenship, privileges and rights of its members.

The group is demanding a retraction of the offensive statements and a public apology by the Deputy Speaker.

It demanded that a member of the House, Mark Gbilah be allowed to move a motion on the floor for and behalf of the Mutuall Union of Tiv in America as a concerned group of Nigerians in the Diaspora.
