In order to collaborate with the Osun state government in eradicating water burn diseases, the Ipetumodu Development Forum (IDF) has constructed three boreholes.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Forum, Barrister Banji Akinloye while performing the commissioning ceremony, the boreholes were constructed to give residents hygienic water and to reduce the stress of seaching for water at various distances.

Akinloye, who enjoined the community to maintain the borehole and use it judiciously, also called on the government to wake up its responsibility for the benefit of the citizen of the state.

The IDF Vice Chairman, added that most of the projects the forum is doing are responsibility of the local and the state governments, saying “we cannot continue to fold our hands expecting government to do everything for us all the time, we have to collaborate with the government for them to assist us too.”

Akinloye charged the entire indigenes to take good care of all the projects in their domain whether provided by IDF or government.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the IDF Secretary, Mr Kehinde Oyetunmbi, congratulated the communities who have benefited from the boreholes, urging them not to misuse the opportunity by the forum by demonstrating their unflinching support and make use of the borehole for the main purpose they are meant for.

Oyetumbi further enjoined government to always come to the aid of rural dwellers, saying “they are also important at any point in time, they are partners in progress.”

The communities to benefit from boreholes are Olokuta Compound, Ofigbodogi Compound and Susu line 1 Compound.
