Gov’s Aide urges Sokoto residents to prioritise security vigilance

The Special Adviser to Gov. Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters, Col. Ahmed Abdul Usman (rtd), has urged the people of Sokoto State to remain vigilant and prioritise security consciousness in their daily activities.
Usman made the call on Monday when he paid a Sallah homage visit to the Local Government Chairman and the District Head, Sarkin Gobir of Gwadabawa, Alhaji Lawal Zayyana, in his hometown in Gwadabawa Local Government Area.
While describing security as a shared responsibility, the aide said timely reporting of suspicious movements and cooperation with security agencies were critical in preventing threats and maintaining law and order. Addressing community members, the retired military officer reassured residents that the state government, under the leadership of Gov. Aliyu, was fully committed to restoring lasting peace and strengthening security architecture across Sokoto State.

He highlighted ongoing efforts, including enhanced collaboration with security agencies, community engagement initiatives, and strategic interventions aimed at tackling emerging security challenges.
The special adviser, who is also the Sadaukin Gwadabawa, further called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth to continue supporting government efforts by promoting unity, discouraging criminal activities, and fostering peaceful coexistence among citizens.
As part of his Sallah engagements, Usman visited the General Hospital in Gwadabawa, where he donated cash assistance to patients and their relatives, and offed prayers for their quick recovery.
According to him, the gesture reflected the importance of compassion and community support, especially during festive periods.
He further extended his condolences to the Commissioner, Home Affairs, Isa Tambagarka, over the passing of his sister, praying for the repose of her soul and for the family to have the strength to bear the loss.
Usman reaffirmed that with sustained cooperation between the government and the people, Sokoto State would continue to witness improved security, peace, and development.
He stressed the need for collective efforts to sustain peace and stability across the state.
The special adviser was accompanied by Alhaji Aminu Bello Gwadabawa, a Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service, and Prof. Mu’azu Shamaki, as well as Alhaji Basharu Guyawa.
