2020 Osun Osogbo festival: Governor’s aide urges compliance with government’s directives on COVID-19

As this year Osun Osogbo festival gathers momentum, the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji Larooye II, to encourage the people on the need to abide by the government’s directive during the celebration of the annual festival.

He said the directive by the state government was in a bid to ensure people observe the general guidelines and protocols for the containment of COVID-19  pandemic.
Oyintiloye made this known while he paid his annual felicitation homage to the foremost ruler in commemoration of this year’s edition of Osun Osogbo festival at his palace in Osogbo, the state capital.
He said, “There’s a need to encourage our people to abide by the directives of the state government during the celebration.
“The directive is intended to help in the containment of Covid-19 pandemic which is ravaging the entire places.”

While responding, the traditional ruler reiterated his readiness to comply with the government’s directive including his subjects for the benefit of all and sundry.
