President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana has declared seven days of national mourning in honour of former President Jerry Rawlings who died of complications from COVID-19 on Thursday.
The President also conveyed sympathy of Government and people of Ghana to the family of the late former leader.
In a statement he personally signed, President Nana Akufo-Addo directed that all national flags should fly at half mast for the next seven days in all parts of the country.
He said the Government would work closely with the family of the former President for a fitting State funeral.
