Court of Appeal in Kano has nullified the election of Kano State lawmaker, Jibrin Abdulmumin.

The appelate court nullified elections in two local government areas of Kiru/Bebeji Constituency and ordered a fresh election in the constituency.

Justice Adejoje Adepoju delivered the lead judgment and hinged the nullification on the mutilation of Form EC8E submitted in respect of the constituency.

Mr Jibrin, a member of the All Progressives Congress, was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Kano State election petition tribunal had, in December  2018, dismissed a petition by Mr Jibrin’s contender, Aliyu Datti of the Peoples Democratic Party.
