Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Monday, appeared before the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of a purported agency known as ‘PFIPC’.

According to a statement signed by Jiti Ogunye, Principal Counsel at Jiti Ogunye Chambers, Gbajabiamila responded to the ICPC’s invitation and presented himself at the Commission’s office about 3:00pm on Monday, July 20, 2026.

The appearance, the statement said, was “in full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria.”

“My client gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and has returned to his duty post,” the statement added.

The ICPC is investigating the operations of the ‘PFIPC’, which has been described in official and media reports as a fake agency allegedly presenting itself as a government-affiliated body.

The Commission has in recent months intensified action against unauthorised entities that impersonate government institutions, as part of efforts to protect public integrity and prevent fraud.

As of press time, the ICPC had not issued a public statement on the outcome of Gbajabiamila’s interaction with investigators.
