Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on Nigerians to reflect on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity as Muslims celebrate Eid-el Kabir.

In a statement released Monday, Fubara said the Festival of Sacrifice should prompt reflection across faiths and serve as a reminder to strengthen peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.

He thanked the Muslim community for its contributions to peace, economic growth, and social harmony in Rivers State, and urged that diversity in faith be used as a source of strength rather than division.

“As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst,” the governor said. “Let the spirit of sacrifice that defines this festival inspire us to give more, forgive more, and love more.”

Fubara prayed that Allah accepts the sacrifices of the faithful and grants peace, good health, and blessings to their families.

“May the lessons of Eid-el Kabir guide us all as we work to make Rivers State and Nigeria a place of justice, prosperity, and unity for every citizen,” he added.
