Community development expert and political stakeholder Blessing Fubara has defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, saying Rivers State will witness political change in the 2027 elections.
Fubara announced the move in Abuja after meeting with NDC national leader Seriake Dickson and other party stakeholders.
He called the NDC “a moving train” and said his decision was driven by the need to defend Rivers people’s interests amid the state’s ongoing political crisis.
“The soul of Rivers State is at stake,” he said, expressing optimism that residents would determine the state’s future in 2027 and that it would emerge stronger after the polls.
Fubara holds a degree in Community Development and Adult Education and is Managing Director and CEO of D’Consiglories LLC.
He has served as Technical Assistant to the Rivers State Government on Employment Generation and Empowerment, Resource Consultant to the Niger Delta Development Commission on Youth Development, and Consultant on Urban Renewal and Infrastructure Development.
He has also worked on youth empowerment programmes and advocacy projects focused on urban renewal and socio-economic growth in Rivers State and the Niger Delta.
