The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has condemned the deterioration of Osun state public infrastructures and notable assets.
Latest of this, according to the party in a press statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary on Wednesday, Ayodeji Arinola, is the collapse of perimeter fence of Government House at the GRA, Okefia, the state Capital.
According to the PDP, “It is also very disturbing, the disruption of economic activities of the good people of the State by officials of the state government who have blocked the road leading to the government house at the early hour of Wednesday, in attempt to shield the ugly scene from public glare.
“This to us, is all time low in a compact state like Osun. As things are, Mr Oyetola led Apc administration is fast turning out a big disaster and an obsene embarrassment to the State, who in our opinion, should throw in the towel for lack of proactive acumen and capacity to manage our dear state instead of compounding the woes foisted on the state in recent years.
“Our party felt ashamed as many portions of township roads in Osogbo, the usual poster center of performance of this clueless administration, were heavily submerged in heavy flooding yesterday night, just after a 30minutes rainfall. This as we speak, has led to massive loss of means of livelihood of many people worth several millions of Naira in the state, including a reported loss of life at Awosuru area of the state capital.
“Many residents around Oke-Ayepe, Rasco, Dada Estate, Nitel Okefia and several other areas of the State Capital were agonizingly trapped in the preventable flooding, such that many had to abandon their efforts to access their individual homes out of frustration. This certainly is not a good deal for our people. It is certainly the lowest point in the history of our State.
“One wonders what has Mr Oyetola been doing in the past three years if he could not maintain the house bequeathed on him as Governor of the state. It is suffice to say that if Oyetola predecessor was an embarrassment, Oyetola himself is a shameful disaster to the State.
“This also is another testament to the fact that the present group of election rigging opportunists in the state have nothing to offer our dear State. A visit to all local government headquarters will send jitters to the spine of any patriotic mind in the state. Most of these edifices put in place by the PDP administration are in very bad state of disrepair and it is very sad.”
“There is no single justification for blocking people out of their legitimate businesses just because a Governor was trying to cover his ass of shame. Preventing people from transacting  their businesses is akin to caging an already stressed economy,” the statement concluded.
