The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega filling station located on Bank Road, Galadima Aminu Way in Jimeta, Yola, the Adamawa State cabpital, has been gutted by fire.
Nemanda S. Joji, a witness, said the fire began around 21:15 pm on Wednesday.
A report by THE WHISTLER said that Joji spoke with the newspaper on phone from the scene of the inferno.
He however explained that the cause of the fire had yet to be known.
Another source told THE CONCLAVE that the fire broke out while a tanker laden with petrol was discharging the proudct into the underground tank.
Joji reportedly said that: “The Federal fire service just arrived, as the state fire service are doing their best” to put out the fire.
