The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed that its office in Ohafia LGA in Abia State had been gutted by fire.
Festus Okoye, the INEC Commissioner in charge of Publicity and Voter Education made this known in a statement.
He was reported to have said the incident occurred on Sunday night.
He, however, stated that the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained.
He said that investigation into the incident was ongoing.
This came a week after one of the commission’s offices in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state was razed.
