The Federal Government has instructed civil servants working within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention scheduled to hold at Eagle Square.

The directive was issued in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

According to the circular, all access roads leading to and around the Federal Secretariat Complex Phases I, II and III will be closed from March 27 to March 28 to allow for smooth logistics and security arrangements for the convention.

As a result, workers in all ministries, departments and agencies located within the affected secretariat phases — as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — have been directed to work remotely on Friday.

The circular also urged permanent secretaries and heads of agencies to ensure full compliance with the directive.

The APC national convention, taking place on Friday at Eagle Square, is expected to draw party leaders, delegates and supporters from across the country as the ruling party prepares for future political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
