The Federal Government and the Republic of Bangladesh are to strengthen bilateral relations with the by increasing the volume of trade and partnership on areas of natural and technological potentials for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, said this on Tuesday when he received a delegation from the Republic of Bangladesh led by the High Commissioner to Nigeria, Masudur Rahman in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Ministry’s Director Press and Public Relations quoted the Minister as saying that Bangladesh was notable for its potentials in the textile and garment production and Nigeria would like to tap into their technical expertise.
Adebayo called on the delegation to always participate in Nigerian Trade Fairs which provided a veritable platform for Bangladesh entrepreneurs to showcase their potentials in Nigeria.
The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria, Masudur Rahman called on both countries to explore their mutual potentials by partnering on areas of education, liquefied natural gas, leather products, solid minerals and high-digitization among others.
He called on Nigerian entrepreneurs to explore the Bangladesh potential in the area of textile and garment production, Pharmaceutical research, and leather production .
Mr. Rahman also disclosed that entrepreneurs in Bangladesh were interested in investing in mining and liquefied natural gas from developing countries especially Nigeria.
The High Commissioner assured that his country would continue to promote Nigerian investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
