The newly-appointed Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to formally resign today from his position as a member on the floor of the House of Representatives .
Gbajabiamila was inaugurated on Tuesday along with his colleagues into the 10th House of Representatives. They took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of membership.
But Gbajabiamila has to resign today to enable him to take on his new assignment as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
Once he resigns, his Surulere 1 Constituency seat becomes vacant and the Independent National Electoral Commission will have to organise a by-election to fill the vacant seat.
