The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) has announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 Hajj, with intending pilgrims required to pay a minimum deposit of N8.5 million.

The board’s Director, Alhaji Kadiri Edah, disclosed this at a meeting in Abuja, according to a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Muhammad Aliyu.

Edah explained that payments must be made through a bank draft from any commercial bank, payable to the FCT MPWB, and submitted alongside the international passport of the intending pilgrim at any of the six area councils before the December 2 deadline.

He stressed that cash payments will not be accepted, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The director further urged those who had deposited funds for previous Hajj exercises but could not participate to indicate their interest before the deadline so that their seats can be secured for the 2026 pilgrimage.

Reiterating the board’s commitment to improved service delivery, Edah also warned intending pilgrims to transact only with the board and disregard any unauthorized requests for additional payments.
