In recognition of his exemplary leadership style since assuming office as Clerk to the National Assembly, the Nigerian Union of Journalist, FCT, Correspondents Chapel presented the prestigious award of excellence as “BEACON OF THE PARLIAMENT” to Sani Magaji Tambuwal.
The event took place at Febson Apartment, Abuja, during the NUJ’s 2023 End of Year party.
Prelude to the award, chairman of the NUJ Correspondents’ chapel, Jide Oyekunle, pointed out that the chapel had been monitoring the CNA’s activities closely, especially in the areas of staff members’ welfare and purposeful leadership style.
Receiving the award on behalf of the CNA, the Director of Information, Umar Ango Gobir, apologized for the inability of the CNA to be in attendance.
Mr Gobir disclosed that the CNA was deeply involved with the promotion exams of staff members that were ongoing at the time of the award.
He further noted that the CNA would have loved to be physically present because of the respect he had for the chapel.
Relishing the award, Mr Gobir saluted the leadership of the chapel for identifying the personality of the CNA for such an award and in a time like this.
He further pledged the unflinching support and partnership of the CNA to the chapel, saying he looked forward to future collaborations in making the National Assembly, indeed, a bastion of democracy.
