The Osun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has condoled with the members of the party in Ifon-Orolu Local Government Council Area of the state over the death of their leader, Alhaji Kilani Orisawale.
This was contained in a statement signed by the media aide to the chairman, Kola Olabisi, made available to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Monday.
According to Famodun, it was extremely painful to have lost the chairman of Orolu APC Elders’ Forum by this time in the history of the party in the state.
The state APC chairman, who described Orisawale as a political tactician of grassroots extraction’ disclosed that it would be pretty difficult to have his replacement in the party in the constituency because of his rare endowments in the art of politics and politicking.
Famodun enjoined the APC family and members of the biological family of the deceased to take the death of Orisawale philosophically as no leaf falls off a tree without the knowledge of God Almighty.
He stated that those who were close to Alhaji Orisawale would not agree less that he ran a successful race in life.
The state APC chairman disclosed that the deceased, who was one of the strongest pillars of the APC in his constituency, was an orator, unrivaled grassroots mobilizer and a resourceful political leader.
In his words:. “Our party has lost a political collosus in Alhaji Kilani Orisawale who was always there for us for the success of our party.
“Alhaji Orisawale was blessed with oratorical skill and an ability to convince any soul on his belief in any issue.
“It would be pretty difficult to have his replacement in the constituency in Ifon-Orolu because of his natural endowments.
“Alhaji Orisawale was a bold political leader who would not hesitate to speak truth to authority whenever there was need to do so in a language and manner that would neither be injurious nor offensive.
“The deceased was steadfast in his political journey as he remained a progressive till the end of his journey of life.
“It is for these reasons that I am, on behalf of my family and all the members of our ruling party in Osun State, consoling both the biological and political families of Alhaji Kilani Orisawale, over the death of the political giant.
“May Allah repose his soul and forgive his inadequacies.
“One of the worthy legacies that should be pursued in the memory of the strong political leader is for the members of his political family to ensure that the vacuum he’s leaving behind in our party is not left unguarded”, Famodun advised.
It would be recalled that Alhaji Orisawale was the chairman of the party’s chairmen forum during the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) and the Action Congress (AC).
He was also a member, till his death, of the famous Governor’s Liaising Officers (GLO) and member of Igbimo Agba Forum, the highest decision-making body in the Osun State APC.
