Prominent Nigerians, including a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Don Etiebet, CON, former minister of state for Budget and National planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, CON, Chief Executive Officer of Emadeb Energy Services Limited, Mr Adebowale Olujimi and a South African-based business man and founder of Homebaze African Cuisine in Sandton City, Johannesburg , Mr Kenneth Ayere, poured encomiums on the publisher/editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE, Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo, on the occasion of his 58th birthday on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Others who felicitated Mr Ojeifo were the state organising secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] in Edo State, Mr Tony Anenih, Jnr; a former deputy governor of Kogi state, Architect Yomi Awoniyi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume; a former senator who represented Edo South in the Senate (2011-2019), Ehigie-Edobor Uzamere, the Oragun of Oke Ila, Oba Dokun Abolarin, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Oma Djeba, Dr Godswill Ogbogodo and Professor Biodun Adeniyi.

The list also included a manager at Addax Petroleum, Mr Blessyn Okpowvo, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of THISNIGERIA newspaper, Mr Eric Osagie, a director at the EFCC, Mr Osita Nwajah, Publisher of THE WHISTLER newspaper, Mr James Umeh (Junior James) and General Secretary of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Iyobosa Uwugiaren (PhD), President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), Maureen Chigbo.
The list is inexhaustive. Each well wisher had one good thing or another to say about the celebrator. The most significant tribute, perhaps, came from an elder statesman and Atuekong Annang, Chief Etiebet. You have been the epitome of what journalists should be since I knew you in the nineties -truthful, incisive, courageous, humble informative, and friendly with no strings attached. Former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Agba prayed for long life, good health for Mr Ojeifo, as the Chief Executive Officer of Emadeb Energy Services Limited, Mr Olujimi described the birthday celebrator as a man of purpose, whose passion for journalism and the promotion of good governance and enhancement of the human condition, is writ large.
Mr Tony Anenih, Jnr wrote: “Belated happy birthday, Ojeifo. May the good Lord continue to shower his blessings on you. I also take this opportunity to thank you for your kind words about my dad in your write-up. God bless.”
A former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Architect Yomi Awoniyi, whose father was also mentioned in the piece I wrote entitled: “I have seen the goodness of God: Godiya,” wrote: “Happy birthday to you, OJ. I wish you many more years of peace, joy, and happiness. May God Almighty see you through to the sixth floor and beyond. Amen.”
Oragun of Oke Ila, Oba Abolarin was effusive in his prayers for good health for Mr Ojeifo and for his passion for journalism which he has practised with distinction while Senator Araraume described his as a brilliant writer even as he wished him well on his birthday.
Mr Ayere wrote: “Happy birthday to a wonderful gentleman. You represent everything positive. May the Almighty grant you more smiles in the decades ahead. May He bless with you with long life in good health. Amen.”
Prof Adeniyi of Baze Unuversity wrote: “Great guy. Reliable. Loyal and effervescent. Many happy returns in good health and prosperity.”
The central theme of the birthday messages centred on prayers for long life for Mr Ojeifo and encouragement to double down on his journalistic exertions for good governance in Nigeria.
