Stakeholders in Esit Eket Local Government Area have endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senator Ekong Sampson, and House of Representatives member Okpolupm Etteh for second terms in 2027.

The declaration came at a town hall meeting on Wednesday attended by political leaders, elders, women, and youth groups. The meeting resolved to push “unity of purpose, sustainable development and social democracy” and urged indigenes to back the Arise Agenda and Renewed Hope for Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Akpabio, Sampson, and Etteh.

Former NDDC Managing Director Bassey Dan Abia Snr. said the gathering was community-driven and a civic duty. “For the avoidance of doubt, this is the Esit Eket Stakeholders meeting. Regardless, we are overwhelmingly APC in Esit Eket and part of the ruling party in Akwa Ibom and Nigeria. Our agenda is how to move Esit Eket forward,” he said.

Former Speaker Bassey Essien and ex-lawmaker Usoro Akpanusoh also spoke. Akpanusoh asked the council chairman to call a broader stakeholders’ meeting and said zoning remains key to political stability. He expressed confidence the state government would uphold it. He backed Etteh for the House, noting zoning favours Ibeno, and endorsed Sampson for Senate. He advised sending a delegation to the paramount ruler to convene a meeting on local development issues.
