Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday inaugurated chairman, members of Human Rights Public Complaints Committee to ensure the protection of the rights of citizens.
The committee is headed by His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State which will ensure that police officers respect the rights of citizens during their operations.
Members of the Committee include Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Commisioner for Youths, Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga, Commisioner for Police, Harrison Gwamnishu , Israel Joe, Representatives of Nigeria Bar Association, Dr Jonathan Ekperusi and National Human Right Commission, Alpheus Ngwu, Functioning Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Theophilus Aguonye as Secretary.
The ceremony which was attended by Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro, Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, Head of Service Sir Reginald Bayoko, Chief of Staff Rt Hon Festus Ovie Agas, commissioners and other dignitaries took place at the State Government House Asaba.
