The Lagos Egbeda Lions Club, District 404 B3, Nigeria, recently inaugurated its 25th President and Officers, marking a new chapter in the organization’s legacy of service.
In his keynote address, Dr. Eddy A. Ademosu emphasised the need for adaptive and innovative approaches to service, highlighting the importance of collaboration, sustainability, and inclusivity.

Dr. Ademosu urged the newly invested leaders to adopt the “DIPS” approach, to wit: dream big by guide projects with a vision of a world without blindness, hunger, or despair, Innovate Boldly by embrace g technology, experiment with new models, and learn from failure; partner deeply by seeking out collaborators who share values and amplify each other’s strengths; and sustain always by embedding environmental and financial sustainability into every initiative.
The address highlighted four key areas for revolutionizing service.
● Service as Empowerment: Focus on unlocking potential, rather than creating dependency.
● Technology as a Force Multiplier: Harness technology to amplify impact, citing examples such as mobile health platforms and blockchain.
●》Collaboration Across Borders: Forge alliances with NGOs, government agencies, and the private sector.
●》Sustainability for Future Generations: Embed environmental stewardship into every project.
Dr. Ademosu shared inspiring stories of transformation, including a Lions Club partnership with a local tech startup to launch a mobile eye-care unit, which provided free glasses to over 10,000 children.
Another example was a youth leadership workshop in the Niger Delta, which trained young peace ambassadors to mediate community disputes.
The Lagos Egbeda Lions Club is part of the larger Lions Clubs International, a global service organisation with over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries.
The organisation has a rich history of community development projects, including eye care, hunger relief, and education.
