Below is the full text of Elder (Chief) Austine Ikubese:

“Let me start my teaching by drawing our attention to the first marriage on earth and the first conflict that was poorly resolved by the first husband Adam, this happened in the garden of Eden of course we are all going through the repercussions today.

Genesis 2 vs. 16-18, Genesis 2 vs. 21 – 25, Genesis 3 vs. 1-7 how the serpent deceived the woman to eat the forbidden fruit (skip reading because of time) Genesis 3 vs. 9-12, This was when Adam could not resolve the first conflict, blaming God for given him a help mate, what a petty. How I wish Adam was an Igbo man, the answer would have been different, he probably would have gone on his knees asking for forgiveness and begging God for a second chance instead of putting the blame on the woman or trying to blame God for giving him a help mate.

In Genesis 3 vs. 16-17 The Lord God made His pronouncement which we are all suffering today.

Thank God for Jesus Christ according to 2nd Corinthians 5 vs. 17, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

WHY DO WE HAVE CONFLICTS IN MARRIAGES THAT HAS TORNNED SO MANY HOMES APART?

1. Simple answer: LACK OF FORGIVENESS

2. Why do we find it difficult to FORGIVE? Because we TRUSTED our spouse that much so when offenses comes we find it difficult to forgive each other.

3. Forgetting that our spouses are just humans.
4. You need three things to enable you enjoy a conflicts free marriage
I.  PATIENCE
II. TOLERANCE
III. UNDERSTANDING

5. One thing we don’t need which is one big mistake most couples do is TRUSTING their spouse to the extent that when offenses comes they find it difficult to forgive each other no matter how much the third party try to resolve the issues or conflicts.

This has really destroyed so many homes today because they are ignorant of the word of God. In Jeremiah 17 vs. 5, Thus saith the LORD, CURSE be the man that TRUSTED in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

In other words, TRUST your MARRIAGE in the HAND of GOD not in the hand of your spouse. So when offenses comes you will be able to forgive each other knowing he/she is just human. According to the word of God in Jeremiah 17 vs. 5 we live in a curse if we find it difficult to forgive each other when offenses are being committed.

CONCLUSION: What we need to resolve conflicts in our marriages is to TRUST our MARRIAGES into the HANDS of GOD because with God all things are possible, not in the hands of your spouse and apply the three ingredients that will help you spice up your marriages. Which are PATIENTS, TOLERANCE AND
UNDERSTANDING. The more patient you are the more you will both tolerate each other and the more you tolerate each other the more you understand each other.

While you both TRUST GOD to GROW YOUR LOVE TOGETHER FOREVER, how do you do this? You must always learn to pray together whether the children are around or not. Once you are aware that you and your spouse must pray together you will always learn to resolve your differences faster so God can answer your prayers. Remember, it takes two of you to put 10,000 to flight while one of you can only put a 1,000 to flight.

So make your choice. You also need loyalty to each other this will help both couple to be committed to the marriage.

Every man and woman has assignment for each other in their marriages and until they realize that they will continue to have unresolved conflicts in their marriages.

May God help us to get better in our marriages, bless our homes and make it more prosperous in Jesus name.”
