Eid-el-Kabir – Osun NUT greets Gov Oyetola, Muslims

The Osun State Wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has congratulated Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state and Muslims for witnessing this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

In a congratulatory message issued and signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the union, Comrade Adekomi Kabir Adekunle and Comrade Salami B. Olukayode and made available to newsmen in Osogbo the state capital, felicitates Governor Gboyega Oyetola, his wife, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, all cabinet members, members of the state House of Assembly and entire Muslim brothers and sisters on this year’s celebration of the Id-El-Kabir festival.

The union said this year’s festival is a special one which deserves celebration and thanksgiving because of the global Covid-19 lockdown that prevented people from observing that of last year.

The union enjoined Muslims not to use the period for wining and dining alone, saying celebrating the festival is beyond killing of rams. It urged them to carry the needy and destitute along during the period.

The NUT leadership used the medium to commends Oyetola for his good work towards the betterment of the people of the state while assuring the governor of the union’s support.

“We want to say that Mr Governor’s efforts in transforming the state cannot be over emphasised as we recognise the developmental programmes and his conclusion in turning around the fortunes of the state.

“We recognise his unflinching support not only to the entire teachers but the entire workforce in the state through regular payment of monthly salary as and when due among other benefits that will affect the betterment of state workers” the union stated.

The Osun NUT congratulatory message however congratulated the entire Muslim teachers in the state, saying “Almighty Allah will continue to bless and promote them all”.
