The leadership of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch NUPENG led by Comrade Lucky Osesua, Comrade (Alhaji) Dayyabu Garga, Comrade Peter Muodobelu, Comrade (Dr) Humble Obinna Power, Comrade Olabisi Akinlolu, among others, has felicitated Muslims across Nigeria especially those within its fold on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
In a jointly signed statement issued at the end of Ramadan fast on Friday, the PTD National executives congratulated Muslims on successfully completing this demanding spiritual obligation and also took time to pray for peace and hoped that the supplications of our Muslim faithful would be accepted for the good of the Union and that of the country.
The statement reads: “Congratulations to the Muslim Ummah particularly all Petroleum Tanker Drivers on wheels of the Islamic community on the successful completion of Ramadan. We truly appreciate your sacrifices, commitment and resilience in serving our country through the lifting, distribution and supply of Petroleum products this holy season, despite the challenges that came with it during the fasting period.
“We specially salute you this period for practicing restraint, decorum, and humility just as we enjoin all faithful to be fair and just in all dealings, help the needy and heal the ailing and promote mutual understanding and peace within communities. These injunctions will help to promote the values of universal social justice, world peace, and human progress. May Allah accept your fastings and sacrifices as acts of Ibadah and let every faithful be among those that will witness great success in good health, divine favour and abundant blessings.
“The just concluded spiritual excercise we pray will help to improve on moral character, refine our minds in pursuit of higher ideals for which there should be no turning back.
“Let us also use this period to remember those in need as we celebrate and pray for the stability, success, and victory of PTD particularly those of us who are proud of its legacies and values.
“At the heart of our faith and a major demand on all faithful is the requirement to commit ourselves to wholesome living. This entails love for one another, love for fellow humans regardless of creed, position, region and ethnicity, love for our communities, love for country and the rule of law and we must become better citizens in line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammed.
“Again, we must constantly seek to become a better versions of ourselves in patriotism, dedication to duty, and honesty. We must also never be weary of doing what is right, fair and just to all. This we also pray for in PTD and NUPENG during this sacred season that is most cherished by Almighty Allah.
“May all the supplications of our Muslim faithful be accepted and may the fruits of Ramadan abide with us all. May we experience peace, fulfilment and joy in all spheres of life, Amin”.
