EFCC nabs four siblings, 30 more for suspected cyber fraud in Enugu

The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has made significant strides in combating cybercrime with the recent apprehension of thirty-four individuals, including four siblings, for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.

The four brothers, identified as Egbo Chukwuebuka, Egbo Favour Chibuike, Egbo Ifeanyi Francis, and Egbo Victor, were taken into custody alongside thirty other suspects following an intelligence-led operation conducted within Enugu state.

Among those apprehended were Great Eze, Ani Callistus, Ekpe Chigbo, and several others, whose names have been listed by the EFCC.

During the operation, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones and a fleet of luxurious vehicles from the suspects, indicative of their involvement in illicit online activities.

The EFCC has stated that the suspects will face legal proceedings once investigations into their alleged crimes have been completed.

The agency said it remained committed to combating cybercrime and ensuring that perpetrators were brought to justice.

The arrest, it said, underscored the ongoing efforts of law-enforcement agencies to clamp down on fraudulent activities in the digital sphere, reaffirming the commitment to safeguarding the integrity of online transactions and protecting unsuspecting individuals from falling victim to cyber scams.
