By EMMANUEL IZAH, Benin-Tension is building up in Uzanu community in Etsako East LGA of Edo State over leaked plots allegedly being hatched by some external forces to unleash mayhem on the quiet, sleepy community, and attribute the dastard act to bandits.
There were feelers from the community that some strategic assets, including the palace of the Oliola of Uzanu and the country home of the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, have been marked for arson.
Besides, the community people are said to be worried about reports doing the rounds that the second leg of the plot by the external forces is to attack the minister and cause him bodily harm.
They feared that the “evil plotters” might succeed if the community people dropped their guards. Sources in the community hinted that indigenes have stepped up their vigilance and readiness to ward off attackers.
Although, sources in the community were not specific about the direction from which the planned attack is coming; there were suggestions in some circles that the plan was hatched in Jattu by some senior government officials.
