In a significant development, the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has officially accepted the resignation of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie Esq.
Ogie stepped down from his role in compliance with extant laws to pursue his ambition of becoming the Deputy Governor of Edo State.
According to a statement by Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media, Crusoe Osagie, Governor Obaseki expressed his gratitude to Ogie for his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the administration’s vision of building a vibrant and prosperous state over the past seven years.
The governor also extended his best wishes to Ogie in his political aspirations, confident that Ogie would continue to serve the people of Edo State with the same dedication.
In a swift move, Governor Obaseki announced the appointment of Mr. Joseph Eboigbe as the new SSG, effective immediately. Eboigbe, who previously served as the Governor’s Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, and later as Commissioner for Finance, is expected to play a crucial role in driving the Governor’s “Finishing Strong” agenda.
Eboigbe brings a wealth of experience to the position, having spent 15 years at Deloitte before transitioning into public service. He holds an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the prestigious London Business School.
