It was celebrations galore on Wednesday among locals of Ikoro and Agbomoba both in Ovia Northeast Local Government of Edo State as the Minister of State for Budget and national Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba inaugurated many Federal Government-sponsored projects in the communities.
The projects inaugurated included the 19km-stretch Igo-Ikpalla road, the solar-powered water works reticulation in Agbomoba, the solar-powered works plus reticulation in Ikoro Town and the open market stores and toilets with borehole, also at Ikoro.

The minister, in continuation of the inauguration and inspection of the projects, on Thursday, will be on the ground in Ovia Southwest Local Government at the construction site of Aden Bridge between Okada and Ogbogui-Abangbe Spur to Benin-Sagamu Road. He will also be at the construction site of Evbotubu-Uwelu-Adolor College Road.
The projects inauguarted in Ikoro and Agbomoba were facilitated and inaugurated by Prince Agba were funded directly by budgetary provisions.
The series of projects and infrastructure development in the rural communities by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration are also to ensure integrated rural development.
Agba, while inaugurating the projects, stated President Buhari placed a lot of emphasis on integrated rural development as envisioned and captured in the National Development Plan, stressing that Ikoro community was lucky to be one of the several communities along the agro corridors in the country to have benefitted from the federal government’s interventions.
He said he was happy to be in the communities to inaugurate the projects which started at various times since 2021 on behalf of the President Buhari.
The communities commended the federal government, President Buhari and Prince Agba for extending the gestures to them, attesting to the fact that the interventions had put an end to decades of deprivations and neglect by successive administrations.
