Security operatives in Borno State have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers allegedly linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a coordinated operation in Kaga Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Fandi Adam Konto, Aji Bura Modu and Tijjain Abubakar Aisami, were apprehended around Mainok village while allegedly transporting medications and other consumable items intended for terrorist hideouts in the area.

The operation was carried out by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Borno State Command, in collaboration with members of the Forest Guard, following intelligence reports on the activities of the suspects.

Security sources said the suspects were intercepted in the early hours of the operation, while items recovered from them have been taken into custody for further investigation.

Authorities said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the supply chains and support networks of terrorist groups operating in the North-East.

According to security agencies, targeting logistics suppliers remains a key aspect of counter-insurgency operations, as it helps to weaken the operational capabilities of insurgent groups by cutting off access to essential supplies.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ alleged involvement and to identify other members of the network.
