Dr. Thomas Attah, a renowned psychologist and development expert, has issued a passionate plea to Nigerian elites to seize the reins of responsibility and contribute significantly to the nation’s growth.

Speaking at the 2025 Annual Conference of the Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Attah emphasised the need for collective action to address societal problems.

Attah urged Nigerians to transcend their comfort zones and create meaningful actions that benefit society.

He advocated for a shift from mere academic study to active application of psychological knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Attah encouraged policymakers, politicians, and industry leaders to engage directly with grassroots communities to design evidence-based interventions.

He emphasized that Nigeria’s transformation is a collective responsibility, requiring the efforts of all citizens, regardless of status or background

Attah’s call to action is echoed by other prominent figures, including Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze, who stresses that Nigeria’s progress depends on collective desire to build the country and reward hard work.

Similarly, Dr. Chima Anyaso urges Nigerians to prioritize community protection, cultural preservation, and collective responsibility for national development.

By working together and embracing their roles in nation-building, Nigerians can create a more prosperous, secure, and stable society.
