The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Fugar Division in Etsako Central local government area identified as CSP Ibrahim Ishaq has been kidnapped near Ise river on the Auchi – Ekperi-Agenebode road.
The police officer was travelling with his orderly on Friday evening when they were attacked by the kidnappers.
He was said to be moving from Agenebode to Fugar.
He passed through Ekperi Road where hey were attacked.
Reports said he was kidnapped and that his orderly escaped.
The kidnappers had since made contact and they demanded N50m ransom.
The incident happened around 6.30 pm on Friday.
The state police command confirmed the incident on Sunday.
The Commissioner of Police, Philip Ogbadu has ordered immediate deployment of men of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime unit, men of the Tactical and Srike teams of the state Police Command in the area to rescue the DPO unhurt.
