The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mrs Abimbola Babatunde, has urged members of The Association of Veteran Journalists in Osun state to continue to be her guide in the new terrain she is .
She made this known during a courtesy visit made by members of the Association to her office on her appointment as the Permanent Secretary.
Mrs Babatunde expressed gratitude to God and the Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke for making staff members of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation to be among the 29 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries .
She also applauded the Veteran Journalists for doing a good job in training, mentoring and supporting her career up to the present stage which eventually culminated in her present elevation to the senior position of one of the top notchers in the Osun civil service.
Earlier, the chairman of the Association, Prince Adepoju Atobatele congratulated the new PS on attaining a higher peak in the civil service.
He equally thanked God who remembered her for her diligence and dedication to duty .
Similarly, the Pioneer DG of OSBC, Mr Adeyeye Oyedokun who is also a member of the Association implored the new P.S of Information and Public Enlightenment to have additional eyes and ears to the ground to lead the Ministry to an enviable height.
Other members who spoke one after the other hinged on the need for her to be patient at all times .
Present during the visit were Director, Department of Grassroot and Public Enlightenment, Mr Raphael Ojo, Deputy Director (GPE), Mr Ademola Lawal, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs Toyin Adeoye.
On the roll call of the veteran journalists were Messrs Kayode Adedire, Sanya Fadipe, Adeyemi Brown, Sunday Odedele, Martins Alamu, Osuolale Babarrinde, Olatunji Idowu, Olusola Ajiboye, Smolette Adetoyese Shittu Alamu with Mrs Dunmade Durojaye as the only female member of the league of veterans during the visit.
