A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Waripamo-owei Dudafa has asserted that Governor Douye Diri’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) will drive transformative development across Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the ex-Bayelsa lawmaker and former commissioner described the governor’s move as a strategic and visionary realignment that places the state at the center of national progress.

He said the decision ensures accelerated growth, enhanced political inclusion, and stronger federal backing.

Dudafa commended Diri’s governance style, rooted in broad consultation and public-interest priorities, as the foundation for this political shift.

He noted that linking the governor’s Assured Prosperity agenda with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative will deliver lasting change to the region.

According to him, since taking office in 2020, Diri has focused on tangible results, and the same approach will guide future gains under the APC banner.

The former Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization and Empowerment pledged continued loyalty, stating that he and his allies will support efforts to maintain peace, unity, and progress. He credited Diri’s political maturity with repositioning Bayelsa for sustained advancement.
