DHQ visits Katsina, says the late Gen. Rabe’s sacrifice will endure

Defence Headquarters has paid a condolence visit to Katsina State over the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, pledging that his service to Nigeria will not be forgotten.

Led by Chief of Administration (Army) Major General IM Abdullahi, the delegation conveyed condolences from Chief of Defence Staff General OO Oluyede and the Armed Forces Sunday.

–“Served with honour for three decades”–

At the family residence, Abdullahi described the late general as a patriotic soldier who served the Army and nation with distinction for over 30 years, contributing to national security and military development.

He assured the family that security agencies will ensure those responsible for Gen. Rabe’s death are brought to justice, and pledged military support during their mourning.

The delegation also presented a national flag to the family in recognition of his sacrifice.

Family spokesperson Alhaji Dikko Mu’azu Ruma, Gado da Masun Katsina, thanked the CDS and Armed Forces for the solidarity, calling the visit “a source of comfort”.

The DHQ team also visited Government House, where Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe received them on behalf of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.

Abdullahi described Gen. Rabe as one of Katsina’s distinguished sons. Jobe said the retired officer’s death was “a painful loss to both Katsina and Nigeria”, adding that his commitment to national service will inspire future generations.
