Several people are trapped as a building under construction, on Thursday, February 2, collapsed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The building is situated in the Gwarinpa Area of Abuja.
“Just witness a poor collapse of an ongoing construction building in Gwarinpa, Abuja, 4th Avenue. People are trapped inside. Please, help inform all necessary agencies,” a twitter user with the handle @nnjigs tweeted.
The twitter user also shared a video of the building.
Acting Director, Forecasting, Response and Mitigation of the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Mrs Florence Wenegieme, reportedly confirmed the incident.
She said her team had rescued six persons.
“The six persons we rescued have been taken to Gwarimpa General Hospital. We are working to rescue more victims,” she was quoted to have said.
