Developing: Obaseki-Shaibu feud worsens as House of Assembly begins Shaibu’s impeachment

■ 22 lawmakers sign impeachment notice
■NTA may broadcast proceeding live

The crisis between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu may have worsened with the planned impeachnent of Shaibu by the State House of Assembly.

The impeachment process, THE CONCLAVE learnt, might begin on Wednesday.

The House sits about 11:30 o’clock this morning.

The House had reportedly made arrangemebts to have the session broadcast live.

One of the lawmakers hinted that the State Executive paid NTA for live coverage of Shaibu’s planned impeachment and eventual removal.

He also said that 22 lawmakers out of the 24 had signed the impeachment notice, after allegedly collecting the cash sum of N15m each.
