Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga has been elected Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.
He replaced Hon Hyacinth Dajoh who resigned from the position in a handwritten letter to the Clerk of the Assembly dated August 24, 2025.
Emberga becomes the new speaker of the 10th Benue House of Assembly at an emergency session convened on Sunday, August 25, 2025 to address the leadership vacancy.
In the letter of resignation that went viral on social media on Sunday, Dajoh appreciated his colleagues for giving him the opportunity “to be the first among equals.”
Dajoh pledged to remain committed to his duties as a legislator and representative of Gboko West State Constituency.
