Gunmen have reportedly attacked the Soka, Ibadan residence of Yoruba Nation agitator, Mr Sunday Igboho.
The attack, according to sundry reports quoting Igboho’s media Office, took place about 1.00 am on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
The attack is coming less than 72 hours to the planned mega rally in Lagos State for Yoruba sovereignty.
The spokesperson of Igboho, Olayomi Koiki claimed that some yet-to-be identified gunmen attacked the Soka Ibadan residence of his principal.
The media page of Igboho’s spokesperson, Koiki, in a live video, alleged that some men wearing military uniforms carried out the attack.
According to the media aide, some persons were whisked away by the gunmen during the attack.
Details of the incident remain sketchy.
Besides, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Ayo, had yet to speak on the incident as of publication time.
▪︎Gunmen Kidnap Sunday Igboho’s Wife, Others-Akintoye
Wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, was reportedly whisked away by the gunmen who attacked his house on Thursday morning.
The leader of Yoruba self-determination Groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, Professor Banji Akintoye, disclosed this in a statement titled, ‘Yoruba Nation: Elements of the Nigerian Army, accompanied by international terrorists hired by the Nigerian State attacked Sunday Ighoho’s residence.”
The statement was made available to newsmen by Akintoye’s Communications Manager, Mr Maxwell Adeleye.
The statement read in part, “The assailants were all dressed in military uniform and spoke French language fluently.
“The gunmen killed seven occupants in the building and whisked Igboho’s wife and several others away.”
