After President Joe Biden announced that he was ending his campaign for president, he reportedly endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris to be presidential nominee in next month’s Democratic Party Convention.

“It is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down,” he said.

Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

Biden said he would address the nation later this week to speak about his decision.

Biden, who has been home in Delaware with Covid symptoms, has been facing pressure to exit the race following his poor debate performance against Donald Trump in June.

A growing number of Democrats had called on Biden to step aside.
