Scores of diplomats from Arab, Muslim, African, and some European nations walked out of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday, September 26, 2025, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the podium.

Supporters of Netanyahu responded with prolonged applause and a standing ovation as he began his remarks, accompanied by his wife, Sara, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

In his address, Netanyahu dismissed international recognition of a Palestinian state as “sheer madness” and vowed that Israel “won’t do it,” calling such recognition “disgraceful.”

He said his speech was being broadcast into Gaza and directly addressed Israeli hostages held by Hamas, assuring them that “we have not forgotten you – not even for a second.”
